Real estate decisions often come at important turning points in our lives. Sometimes they are exciting. Sometimes they are complicated. And sometimes they arrive at a time we didn't necessarily choose.

After more than 25 years in real estate, I have learned that my job isn't simply to sell houses. It is to listen first, understand what someone is trying to accomplish, explain things in a way that makes sense, and then help find a path forward.

I don't believe in pressuring people into decisions. I believe in giving people good information, honest advice, and enough of my time to understand their choices. Sometimes I am the Realtor. Sometimes I am the teacher, problem solver, or counselor. Whatever the situation requires, my goal is the same: to help make a difficult process easier and a good experience even better.

Perhaps that's because I genuinely enjoy people. Their stories interest me. Their goals matter to me. And there is something deeply satisfying about knowing that I helped someone accomplish something important in their life. Some of the people I first met as clients many years ago are now people I am fortunate to call friends.

My philosophy is actually quite simple. Treat people with respect. Tell them the truth. Do what you say you are going to do. And when circumstances aren't perfect, help them understand their options so they can make the best decision possible.

I learned long ago that we don't always have all the answers in life. But I do believe that if, at the end of the day, you can look in the mirror and like the person reflected back at you, you have probably done what is right.
